Wide open throttle Fuel is still under control by Trims. Desired Mixture values change quite rapidly, and at times will go leaner than 14.7. We've seen Idle values (STOCK) 15.1 AFR at idle, and other calibrations (for example mexico) 13.3 AFR at idle. Air / fuel Values are very *interesting* with the sky. Tuning the ignition takes time, to say the least.įuel. That's also why (in our opinion) you never want to adjust timing from knock feedback on a FIRST WOT pull (unless the knock is excessive). From the multiple cars we've tuned, we see that the sky will never knock the same way twice. The ECU will add timing (not a whole lot) until knock is achieved, then turn timing down slightly, Hold the knock retard for an extended period of time, record values, and "learn" new ignition values. The Sky is a bit more like a watered down subaru. The MZR will see knock, and pull timing out accordingly (or in some cases it won't pull timing). Knock control on the skyactiv ECU is a bit different than the MZR. Stock exhuast / intake values Sky-G 2.5L (for an example) However there are several cam tables for various things. Both cams need the special attention given to them that the NC is given on the intake cam. There is VVT on the intake and exhaust cams. This gives the ECU full time adaptive control over everything, ignition, fuel, knock, etc.ĭual VVT. The ECU has complete feedback control from idle to the rev limiter. That means when you go WOT, there is no CL to OL transfer. One of the biggest differences is the full time CLOSED LOOP CONTROL. What's the key differences between the NC and ND in terms of tuning? Load, MAF, Ignition, the basics are all the same. It still follows the same basic rules as the NC, with some well thought out changes. Similar to what has been going on with the NC sub-section of the forum, Since we have a bit of experience with these engine and calibrations, and have been tuning them for over 16 months, we'd like to share a bit of information right away for folks who plan to tune their ND or be tuned in the future so that they could understand what's going on a bit.
